
From May 12–14, 2026, enforcement agencies across the United States, Canada, and Mexico will conduct the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck, widely known throughout the logistics industry as DOT Week.
During this 72-hour enforcement initiative, inspectors will conduct intensive roadside inspections of commercial drivers and vehicles across North America. This annual event often creates temporary disruptions to freight capacity, transit times, and transportation costs across multiple lanes and transportation modes.
International Roadcheck is recognized as the world’s largest targeted commercial motor vehicle enforcement program. Inspections focus on both driver compliance and vehicle safety, with special attention given to operational and cargo securement standards.
For 2026, enforcement efforts will primarily focus on:
- Electronic Logging Device (ELD) integrity
- Cargo securement compliance
Inspectors will review driver records, hours-of-service compliance, and equipment functionality, while also evaluating cargo securement practices such as tie-downs, bracing, blocking, and overall load stability.
