Ahead of the upcoming Golden Week holiday, ocean carriers are adjusting sailing schedules across major trade lanes. From September 21 through October 25, 77 blank sailings are scheduled out of 720 announced departures, representing approximately 11% of planned sailings across the main routes.
The eastbound Trans-Pacific trade lane accounts for approximately 55% of the announced disruptions, followed by Asia–Europe/Mediterranean at 31% and Trans-Atlantic at 14%.
These schedule adjustments are contributing to tighter vessel capacity as cargo activity increases ahead of Golden Week. On the Trans-Pacific, freight rates have also increased, reflecting the impact of reduced capacity and pre-holiday shipment activity.
